During the internship the student will be required to do the following to earn credit for the class:
1. Communication is critical for success! Check/use email regularly (at least every other day) for communication with Mrs. Linda Brannan. Students must use email as the primary form of communication for the internship (not texts) and be diligent in checking their email and responding timely.
2. Create and share an Internship Digital Portfolio for Internship Class Work/Required Documents. This portfolio will be shared with Mrs. Linda Brannan. You may use Google, One Note or another digital format that is shareable and accessible.
The following information/forms/documents will be included in the internship digital portfolio - details of items listed are covered in the WCPSS Student Internship Guide, which is the textbook for the class. There are copies of the forms, descriptions of the Honors Assignments and the class Rubric included in the Student Guide.
4. Schedule periodic check-in meetings with Mrs. Linda Brannan, usually once every 2 weeks done via email, face-to-face, phone call or electronic meetings. Students must be good at managing their own time and maintaining contact with Mrs. Linda Brannan either through email, electronic meetings, face-to-face meetings or through Remind 101.
5. Meet all deadlines - Turn in all assignments in a timely manner to company Supervisor and Mrs. Linda Brannan. These include digital assignments, meetings, and paper assignments.
6. Complete Final Exam, which is to Attend and Present Internship final project at the Wake STEM Internship Symposium at the end of the semester. To conduct a final presentation using Final Project (item #h above) honors assignment products, and Tri-fold poster at the Wake STEM Internship Symposium. You will present to an audience of business professionals including Mrs. Linda Brannan, Wake STEM Staff, the Wake STEM Business Advisory Board (BAB) and school community scheduled at the end of the semester. Students must dress in professional attire for this presentation.

- Completion of Internship Agreement Form/Learning Objectives Form: Document internship partnership with the company/organization through completion of the Internship Agreement Form and the Learning Objectives Form. Develop learning objectives or focus areas of internship with the internship supervisor at the business/organization
- Work a minimum of 135 hours, - log all hours worked on the Internship Time sheet, (or an approved company Time sheet).
- Complete Digital Internship Journal with at least ten entries. This digital journal will document your internship journey. Details of journal entries and questions to answer are found in the Student Internship Guide.
- For Honors credit, complete 2 of the 4 honors assignments (your choice) listed in the Student Internship Guide. Samples of the final honors assignment work products will be included on the final Tri-fold Poster presented at the Internship Symposium.
- Assure Site Supervisor’s Internship Evaluation Form is completed, of the student’s work at the end of the internship - (30% of final grade).
- Complete Student Self-Evaluation Form at the end of the internship.
- *Create a final online project which will include items from your digital portfolio listed above such as internship documentation listed above, honors assignment products, a final summary presentation (6-7 slides in a Prezi, PPT, Animoto) and create a Tri-fold Poster. These items will demonstrate and reflect the work completed during the internship, such as the internship goals, interests, and areas of career exploration, & intern's honors assignments/work – see the Student Internship Guide/Rubric for details of the final project (*30% of final grade).
- Write a professional thank you note to your internship supervisor from the company at the end of the internship. A copy is included in this digital portfolio for Mrs. Brannan.
